I was on the trolley, fully prepared for surgery and the anaesthetist heard me breathing, stopped the cart, listened to my chest and vetoed the surgery. I was not disappointed from a medical point of view as I am not a risk taker, but it was frustrating as I had phoned the day before to let them know that I wasn't well, but they thought it would still be ok. I guess it could of been and they really couldn't make a decision like that over the phone...so, no band for me this week.
Now that it isn't done this week, it probably won't happen for a month. Next week I will still have some fluid on my lungs [they diagnosed the flu, not just a cold as I imagined it was] so that week is out. The week after that I have uni exams, so it can't happen then. The week after that would work, but if I had to do optifast for a week before hand, that would mean that I would be fasting the week of exams, so that is out as well. So we are probably looking at the second week in June now. I will keep you in the loop.
Kitty decided Sunday morning just gone that she doesn't want to breast feed any more, so just stopped! I was gutted!!! I could not get her to take the breast no matter what methods I tried. Sitting, standing, laying down, moving around. Nope! No more boobie for her. I continued to try throughout Sunday and Monday, then Tuesday I spent most of the morning at the hosptital only to be sent home at lunch time with no surgery, but still she wouldn't drink. I had been expressing up until then, but I thought there is no way I can keep this up, expressing, then bottle feeding, and she was only taking one bottle anyway. Little minx!!!
So, she is basically weaned. Can you believe it? 8 months old and already knows exactly what she does or doesn't want. If she wasn't such a great eater I would be concerned, but she eats really well from all food groups and takes formula from a sippy cup, so I am accepting the situation. I will of course keep a very close eye on her development.

Well I am glad you are not taking undue risk but can certainly understand the frustration! I hope it can happen soon but it sounds like a busy month for you, anyway.
Nice to meet you, btw.
